Carrageenans are a family of natural linear sulfated polysaccharides derived from red edible seaweeds. This item; It is widely used in the food industry due to its gelling, thickening and stabilizing properties.
Carrageenans contain 15-40% ester-sulphate content, which makes it an anionic polysaccharide. They can be divided into three different classes mainly based on their sulfate content.
1- Kappa-Carrageenan 2- Iota-Carrageenan 3- Lambda-Carrageenan
It is produced in two qualities, fully refined and semi-refined.
